Peptide Calculator UK

A free peptide reconstitution and mixing calculator. Turn vial strength, water volume and the amount you need into a stock concentration, a transfer volume in mL and µL, and U-100 syringe units. For in vitro laboratory use.

Concentration & Dilution Calculator

Enter the peptide weight in your vial, the water you added and the amount you need. The calculator works out the stock concentration and how much solution to transfer, in mL and microlitres.

A laboratory maths tool only. It simply converts the figures you enter. It does not suggest a solvent, concentration, sample size or method of use, and it is not medical or veterinary guidance.

The total peptide content shown on the vial.

Common sizes, or type any amount in the box:

mg

The volume of bacteriostatic or sterile water added to the vial.

mL

The amount of peptide needed for your sample.

Example amounts:

Transfer volume
0.2 mLEqual to 200 µL of a 5 mg/mL stock solution.
Syringe size

20 units on a 1 mL (100 units) U-100 syringe.

Stock concentration
5 mg/mL
Amount needed
1 mg
Transfer volume
200 µL
U-100 syringe units
20 units
Water added
2 mL

Opens with your figures already filled in.

Research use notice. This calculator is a general maths tool for laboratory research. It gives no medical guidance. Crown Peptides products are supplied for in vitro laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use. Researchers are responsible for checking their own calculations and the legal requirements that apply to their work.

How this calculator works

Concentration

The peptide weight divided by the water added. A 10 mg vial in 2 mL gives a 5 mg/mL stock solution.

Transfer volume

The amount needed divided by the stock concentration, which gives the transfer volume in millilitres.

Microlitres

1 mL is 1,000 µL, so 0.2 mL is 200 µL. Transfer volumes are shown in both.

Syringe units

On a U-100 syringe 1 mL is 100 units, so 0.2 mL is 20 units.

About this calculator

What it works out

The stock concentration and transfer volume, calculated purely from the peptide weight, water volume and amount you enter.

What it does not do

It does not recommend any amount, concentration, solvent or procedure. Every figure comes from you, the researcher.

Check your results

Always check results against your own laboratory procedures. 1 mg is 1,000 µg, and 1 mL is 1,000 µL.

Questions

How does a peptide reconstitution calculator work?

It divides the peptide weight in the vial by the water added to give the stock concentration, then divides the amount needed by that concentration to give the volume to transfer. Every figure comes from you; the calculator only does the maths.

What is the reconstitution formula?

Concentration (mg/mL) = peptide weight (mg) ÷ water added (mL). Transfer volume (mL) = amount needed (mg) ÷ concentration (mg/mL). U-100 syringe units = transfer volume (mL) × 100. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, and 1 mg of that solution is 0.2 mL, or 20 units.

How do I convert mL to syringe units?

On a U-100 syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL, so multiply the volume in mL by 100. 0.2 mL is 20 units and 0.05 mL is 5 units.

How long does a reconstituted peptide last?

It depends on the compound and how it is kept. Our Storage Information page covers temperature, light and shelf life for both freeze-dried and reconstituted peptides.

What is the difference between mg and mcg?

1 milligram (mg) is 1,000 micrograms (mcg, also written µg). The calculator accepts either: switch the unit next to Amount needed.

Which water is used for reconstitution, bacteriostatic or sterile?

Both are purified water for laboratory use. Bacteriostatic water also contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a preservative that slows bacterial growth, so a vial can be opened more than once. Sterile water contains no preservative. The calculator works the same with either.

Does it work for reconstituting blends?

Yes. Enter the total weight of the blend, for example 10 mg for a 5 mg + 5 mg vial. The concentration shown is for the whole blend, and in a 50/50 blend each compound makes up half of it.

Can I use it for BPC-157, TB-500 or GHK-Cu?

Yes. It works for any freeze-dried research peptide. Enter the weight on the vial label, for example 10 mg of BPC-157, and the water added.
