Product Overview

Tesamorelin peptide UK is Crown Peptides' synthetic GHRH receptor analogue, supplied in 10 mg and 20 mg vials for laboratory research. The Tesamorelin 20 mg vial carries twice the material of the 10 mg at a lower cost per milligram, which is why it is the usual choice for longer protocols or work that needs a consistent single lot across a study.

Background

About Tesamorelin Peptide UK

Tesamorelin peptide is a synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone designed to activate the GHRH receptor. Its sequence is closely related to endogenous GHRH but includes a modification that improves stability against enzymatic degradation.

Research

Tesamorelin Research

The published literature on Tesamorelin is unusually deep for a research peptide. A meta-analysis of five randomised controlled trials, published in Obesity Research & Clinical Practice in January, reported a significant reduction in visceral adipose tissue (mean difference −27.71 cm²), a reduction in trunk fat of 1.18 kg, and an increase in lean body mass of 1.42 kg, alongside raised IGF-1 — with no significant change in subcutaneous fat or BMI. A separate systematic review pooling four trials across 909 participants reached broadly the same conclusions.

Liver-focused work has drawn particular attention. A randomised placebo-controlled trial in HIV-associated NAFLD found that Tesamorelin reduced liver fat and prevented fibrosis progression over twelve months, and a follow-up analysis of paired liver biopsies from the same trial mapped the inflammatory and fibrotic gene-expression pathways that shifted alongside it. Cognitive endpoints have been examined too, in a Phase II trial in ageing HIV-positive adults (NCT02572323), where the between-group difference did not reach significance — a reminder that the GH–IGF-1 axis does not behave uniformly across every outcome studied.

Tesamorelin is studied in GHRH receptor pharmacology, pituitary growth-hormone release, downstream IGF-1 signalling [IGF-1 LR3] and metabolic-endocrine models. Its enhanced stability compared with native GHRH makes it useful for studying sustained receptor activation (Learn more) and the consequences of altered hypothalamic-pituitary signalling.

Questions

Tesamorelin Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin peptide UK from Crown Peptides is a synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone studied through the GHRH receptor.

What is Tesamorelin researched for?

Research includes GHRH receptor pharmacology, pituitary growth-hormone release, IGF-1-related signalling and metabolic-endocrine models.

How does Tesamorelin differ from native GHRH?

It contains a structural modification designed to improve resistance to enzymatic degradation.

Is Tesamorelin a growth-hormone secretagogue?

It promotes growth-hormone signalling through the GHRH receptor, which is mechanistically different from ghrelin-receptor secretagogues such as GHRP peptides [GHRP-6].

What is the difference between Tesamorelin 10 mg and 20 mg?

Only the quantity of material in the vial. Both are the same compound, the same synthetic GHRH analogue, prepared and tested to the same standard, and both arrive as a lyophilised powder with a batch-specific certificate. The 20 mg vial simply contains twice as much, so it works out cheaper per milligram than buying two 10 mg vials and keeps a longer run of work on a single lot number.

Which Tesamorelin vial size should a study use?

That depends on how much material the protocol needs and how long it runs. Shorter or exploratory work is often better served by the 10 mg vial, since reconstituted peptide has a limited working life and there is little sense in preparing more than a study will use. Longer protocols, or any design where lot-to-lot variation would be a confounder, tend to favour the 20 mg vial — one certificate, one batch number, one set of analytical values across the whole study.

How is Tesamorelin tested?

HPLC and Mass Spectrometry can assess peptide purity and molecular identity, with the exact supplied form confirmed on the batch-specific CoA.
